Bayard and Joyce King Collection

Bayard King (1922-2008) and his wife, Joyce (1932-), had a passion for collecting tribal art. Utilizing their discerning eyes in their travels, they amassed an array of cultural artwork from Africa and Asia. Dramatic portraits of spirit beings, respected and feared animals, celebration motifs, and depictions of departed ancestors are some of the themes that run through their collection. Ranging from 6 to 25 inches in size, this eclectic mix of wooden masks and statuary, dating from the late 19th to mid-20th Century, is truly a rare anthology.
