Chris founded Christopher Webster Real Estate in 1976 on the historic Plaza in downtown Santa Fe after becoming licensed as a real estate broker in the state of New Mexico. Chris began a working professional real estate relationship with Sotheby's International Realty (SIR) in the early 1980's, becoming the exclusive affiliate for New Mexico in 1984, and serving on the SIR Advisory Board from1989 until 2004. In June of 1998 Sotheby's bought Christopher Webster Real Estate as their first acquisition worldwide of an affiliate company.  In 2005 Chris became a partner with founders Robert Burnett and Matt Shanaberger in Synthesis Realty Group, a firm providing consulting, marketing, and sales expertise for ultra high-end residential developments which currently has exclusive representation contracts with the Ameya Preserve in Montana, Sea Horse Ranch in the Dominican Republic, Temenos in Anguilla, Tamarindo Preserve in Costa Rica, and Moru Ootu in French Polynesia.  Also in 2005 Chris, along with Dr. Al Waxman, founded W2, a venture investment firm focused on raising funds for Psilos, America's leading healthcare venture fund, and analyzing investment opportunities in non-healthcare companies.  In early 2006, Chris accepted an advisory consultant position with Flywheel Ventures, a New Mexico technology fund, and a seat on the Board of Directors of American Clay, a 100% natural and green interior wall plaster manufacturing company.

Chris has an extensive background in real estate including residential, ranch, and commercial brokerage primarily in New Mexico, Hawaii, Mexico, and Western Europe, appraisal and investment analysis experience, as well as golf resort development marketing expertise. Christopher Webster Art Investments was founded in 1972 as a brokerage, procurement, and appraisal business for American Indian and indigenous art of the Americas, as well as Spanish Colonial artifacts and vintage Western paintings and photography.  From those origins came the opportunity to set aside certain objects as a collection that today consists primarily of representative examples from Mexico, Peru, and the American Southwest, the lands of Spanish exploration during the Age of Discovery.
